John Farley (Seann William Scott) is an overweight young boy who along with many of his classmates endures never ending torture at the hands of his sadistic gym teacher Mr. Woodcock (Biily Bob Thornton). After growing up and gaining notoriety as a self help guru, he comes home to the horror of his mother (Susan Sarandon) firmly entrenched in a relationship with Mr. Woodcock. John is convinced of Mr. Woodcock's horrible intentions towards his mother. As the relationship between John's mother and Mr. Woodcock grow more serious, John becomes more determined to show his mother exactly how horrible Mr. Woodcock truly is.
