Sell, sell, sell. That's the name of the game at J. T. Marlin. Seth Davis (Giovanni Ribisi) is the son of a New York judge. A judge (Ron Rifkin) with high expectations. Seth is also a college dropout, a fact which has greatly disappointed his father. So when Seth has a chance to go to work at a brokerage house, J. T. Marlin, he jumps at the chance. He starts to emulate Jim Young (Ben Affleck), the head of the company. A quick-study, Seth rapidly rises through the ranks and is soon one of the top men in telephone sales. Along with the prestige comes large bonuses. Almost too large. Although hoping to impress his father and finally win his approval, Seth senses that something is not right. His suspicions mount when the Feds start to investigate the firm.
