The Earth's molten core has been rendered motionless for reasons unknown, and now, the Earth is turning on itself in a series of natural disasters. Lead scientists get together to work out the problem, and a secret silo is introduced, which hides a rocket-like drill which will go into the center of the Earth. "Terranauts" Beck Childs (Hilary Swank) and Robert Iverson (Bruce Greenwood), along with a crew of others, must work together to launch a nuclear device that will hopefully get the Earth started again, or else, the disasters already seen will not be the last or the worst.
