Jimmy “B. Rabbit” Smith Jr. (Eminem), a sheet metal factory worker and aspiring rapper struggles through life trying to start a music career, dealing with girl troubles, the danger of local gangs and a crumbling family life. Forced to live in a trailer park with his mom, B. Rabbit’s dream is to be a rapper but has a lot of obstacles to overcome. After a distasterous showing at local rap battle MC’d by his friend, Future (Mekhi Phifer), B. Rabbit is seen as a choke artist.
